"Persecution" is subjecting (someone) to hostility and ill-treatment, esp. because of their race or political or religious beliefs.
"Prosecution" is instituting legal proceedings against (a person or organization).
"Presecution," I don't know.
I think you mean 'persecution.' The persecution I endured at school got worse as I got older.
Generally, Jews have responded to increasing Antisemitism in one place or another by moving to a place that is less Antisemitic.
It means the case against the defendant is being dismissed because (usually) the complaining witness has failed to show up in court for whatever reason.
A child under seven cannot file a complaint in his individual capacity in the court, hence tfhe question of presecution does not arise.
Total Economic control over production industries, and a population that had suffered economic problems (more than others). Second they had a more educated citizens, product of religious presecution in France.
It will depend upon the crime. Typically the presecution wants to get dangerous individuals locked up in prison so they are away from society and cannot continue breaking the law. For those that are committing victimless or non-violent crimes or even first offenses, fines, probation and jail time are more common, but they can still request prison.
No, they were different people. Henry VII had a daughter, Margaret, who married the Scottish king James IV. Her granddaughter Mary was Queen of the Scots, but also had a claim on the English throne through Margaret. Margaret's brother Henry VIII's oldest daughter became Mary I of England and would be called ''the Bloody'', because of her presecution of protestants.
A military courts martial is a legal proceding that is conducted under the rules and regulations of the military. There is a judge, jury and attorneys involved. In some cases these are very informal, as in the case of a Special Courts Martial, in which an officer, 0-3 or above, conducts the entire proceeding and serves as the judge, defense and presecution with no jury. Or it can be a full fledged trial with 12 jurors and judge and members of the Judge Advocate General's staff serving as the prosecution and defense.
What the defense attorney knows about the defendant's guilt is not pertinent. He has a duty to make the presecution prove all aspects of the case. The US Legal system is based on this concept. Without it, the burden of proof will no longer be required and innocent people might be indicted and convicted.
The Thomas Nast cartoons brought to light to the public eye the corruption and greed of Boss Tweed and Tammany Hall . The public , outraged , voted against this blatant abuse of power forcing Tweed to flee to Cuba but , ironically , it was Nast's own political cartoons of Tweed that people recognized Tweed and he was subsequently arrested .

My opinion on the Casey Anthony story is that is one of thousands of family tragedies. There are many, many cases where a child disappears or dies and the parent is the only suspect. For some reason, this case captured the attention of the public, most likely because of the frantic search for the missing child and the last person seen with her and the person responsible for the child's well being would not help the authorities in finding her and kept misdirecting their efforts. In addition, the type of salacious behavior engaged in by the child's mother during the time she was missing is the type of thing that attracts the media and the attention of the public. With most of the facts of the case in question and the unusual behavior of the 'lead character', the story was a great opportunity for the media to spend hour after hour speculating and holding the attention of the public. I don't know exactly how the child died but however she died, she was in the care of her mother at the time. A lot more can and must be inferred by the circumstances that followed her death. . I believe that investigators and the presecution did an exceptional job with a difficult case. The resources wasted following up Casey Anthony's lies and the time it took to locate the remains of her child made it difficult to prosecute the case. The final outcome rested on the opinion of the jurors who brought their own level of understanding of the evidence that was presented. Not the evidence or, more importantly, not the public opinion that the rest of us were exposed to. This jury may have thought that she was the great mom she was portrayed and the rest of the evidence was confusing or pointed in too many directions so they didn't weigh it as heavily as her 'good mother' persona. We will never know unless and if the jurors have anything to say about their decision.
