I think it was made in c.AD100; used by the vikings.
The "Locate Talisman" interaction with the talisman will guide you to the altar of whichever type the talisman is and if you click "Use Talisman" and use it on the ruins you will find once you arrive, it will transport you to the altar. This option allows you to craft runes that are used for magic casting in the game. To craft runes, use the talisman on the stone altar once you reach it to bring you inside the altar and use Rune Essence (see below) on the stone in the middle of the room. The Air Talisman is also a quest item as well as one of the items mentioned above. It is used in the quest called, "Rune Mysteries". After you complete the quest, you can get Rune Essence, which is basically a rune that hasn't been made into a specific one yet - so it's not a Earth Rune, Air Rune, Body Rune, etc. It's just a blank Rune.
The vikings wrote with the Futhark. Its a character row that was designed to be carved into wood or stone. They didn't have parchment or paper, so books and whatnot were nearly impossible. Stories and other knowledge was passed down verbally. However, there are MANY examples of rune carved monuments, as well wooden stakes and tablets with quick short messages. Many of them were used by traders to identify goods. The runes were also believed to be magical, and is the basis of one of the two viking age style of magic, called galdr.
Runes were a written alphabet alphabet used by the Vikings, consisting of various symbols that could be efficiently carved into stone or wood, due to the many straight lines and no curved lines.

Marble I think.
I used rune of axes, rune of gods and rune of plague. There are others aswell though.
You use Pure Runes to create magical runes used for magic. that's pure ess i think he means a pure rune. that's when a player choses to stay at 40 defense. no lower or higher.
I think they used stone for the base :)
Well. it really depends on who/what you are fighting. rune scimitar is fast and does a good amount of damage, (i think this wep is better) it is good vs. an enemy without armor where as the mace is slower, but much lighter. a mace is used vs. and enemy with armor. so if i where you i would go with the rune scimitar unless you are doing monkey madness! -miles
rune letters are dwarf writing in The Hobbit.
