A load on the truck or container using slipsheets instead of pallets. In some cases the edge of the slipsheet can be "grabbed" by a special attachment on the forklift and pulled onto the forks. Sometimes they will use slipsheets to allow for more usable room for the freight, other times they use slipsheets because of issues with wood or the cost of plastic pallets.
