My two cents is that the spleen is basically an emergancy sac of blood. It is said in other cultures that it effects the dispostion or mood(can cause clinical depression). It is also part of the Body's Lymphatic system. Hope this helps!
The spleen has many functions:
The lymphatic system is a continuation of your immune system- stationed at different parts of your body. It supports fluid drainage from infected areas etc.
Lymphatic system: Helps remove infection
Circulatory system: Removes unwanted material, such as defective red blood cells (RBC's)
Lymphocytes of the spleen, like those of the thymus also help defend the body against infections. Thus, the spleen filters blood much as the lymph nodes filter lymph.
No, it is part of the lymphatic system.
acts like a second heart to pump blood
The spleen
Spleen is not a verb, it is a noun.
spleen can be called as the graveyard of the RBC because the RBC undergo disintegration in the spleen
The largest lymphatic organ in the body located in the upper left abdomen is the spleen.
Mono enlarges your spleen
The spleen produces blood cells, and forms part of the immune system.
The spleen is responsible for producing white blood cells. These cells are extremely important in their role fighting infections in the body.
That is called as Spleen.
There is no one specific organ that takes over the functions of the spleen, rather their are several tissues in the body that are able to pick up some of the important functions of the spleen, for example the recycling of red blood cells. Yes that is true, but, once the spleen is gone, the liver takes over most of the fuctions that the spleen used to do.
The spleen is the largest lymphy node in the human body
What Is the Spleen? The spleen is an elongated organ located in the abdomen. Though not essential for life, the spleen performs important functions related to the blood and lymph systems. The spleen filters the blood and participates in various immune functions.Where Is the Spleen Located? The spleen is located near the stomach in the left forward part of the abdomen. The exact location of the spleen depends upon its size and shape and is affected by the size of the surrounding organs, such as the fullness of the stomach. What Is the General Structure of the Spleen? The spleen is a relatively large, dark red organ that is supplied with numerous blood vessels. The normal spleen is shaped somewhat like a tongue and is considerably longer than it is wide and slightly constricted in the middle. It is covered by a tough capsule of fibrous tissue.
The spleen.
The spleen is the largest organ of the Lymphatic system.
the scientific name for spleen is spleen xD
The spleen
you can live indefinatly without a spleen The spleen is essential for the formation of red blood cells in a fetus until the bone marrow develops. After birth it normally performs several important functions, but all of them can be taken over by by other organs.
Age and damaged (senescent) red blood cells (erythrocytes) are broken down and recycled by the spleen, although the liver also plays an important role.
