This story is about Andrew, a 15-year old boy who tells us about his cousin Duffy who is basically very careless. Their mothers are sisters who think that if they don't do manly stuff, Andrew, Marie and Duffy would come out wrong. Marie is Andrew's little sister who gets easily scared. One day, the mothers decided to go out camping but Andrew didn't like the idea of it. Aunt Elise's boss' friend's friend allowed them to use his cabin for camping. On Friday in October they drove to the woods. When they arrived, the cabin was a mess so it took them some time to clean it. It took 4 hours to get three bedrooms clean. After eating supper, they went to sleep. The next day, things looked better and they went outside for a walk. Later, they went back home and started poking around the house. Andrew found a message written on a wall saying to be aware of the Sentinel. Nobody believed Andrew and they thought it was a joke. They went for another walk where they went deep Into the Woods. It was very hot so they took off their coats. When they returned home, Duffy forgot his jacket and Andrew got scolded for not reminding Duffy his jacket. The mothers had to go to town for supplies and left the children alone in the house. It got dark and they still didn't come home. Something started to scratch on the door and the children became really scared. They went outside the house by the backdoor and planned to go hide in the barn but the barn was locked so they returned back home to hide. They tiptoed upstairs and thought they were safe but when Andrew saw the manlike creature his heart stopped. The creature started back toward the house and started scratching the door. It knocked the door down and started moving upstairs. The door swung open and a huge figure appeared before them. Andrew thought they were going to die… "You forgot your jacket, stupid", it said. It threw the jacket at Duffy and went away. This is why nobody had to remind Duffy anymore because when you leave stuff lying around, you never can be sure just who might bring it back.
