Generally a vegan will not eat any food that includes an animal product- including, but not limited to: meat, fish, eggs, milk, honey, animal-derived glycerin, Gelatin, and animal-derived stearate. It depends on the situation whether they go farther, such as eating only foods that are not prepared on the same equipment as meat, or extending their veganism into other parts of their lives such as medicine, clothing, and toiletries. A vegan wardrobe would not include any silk, fur, wool, or feathers. Often the vegan lifestyle also includes endeavoring to abstain from using products that promote any kind of animal cruelty.
