This is referred to as a nomadic way of life.
Nomads
They were following the herds so they were looking for food.
It went in herds when it traveled so they could protect each other from predators.
The first people were Native Americans who over time followed the animal herds to North America.
Hunter Gatherers
Yes and no! Cattle do not live naturally in the desert but ranchers allow their herds to graze in the desert.
A shepherd who moves his herds in search of fresh pasture
False, they are inhabitants of grasslands (savannas) not deserts.
Nomads moved from place to place. Nomads lived in tents and raised goats, sheep, and camels. They traveled with their herds to find food and water for their animals. They traveled in tribes, or groups of people. Tribe membership provided protection from danger and reduced competition for grazing lands.
only if they are: Their traditional lifestyle has adapted to these extremely arid conditions. Their nomadic lifestyle means they do not settle in one area for long. Instead, they move on frequently to prevent exhausting an area of its resources. They have herds of animals that are adapted to living in desert conditions, such as camels. PERIOD LMAO
They had to follow the herds to eat.
I don't really know specifically of which race or tribe of people you're referring to because different races of people all over the world that commonly traveled have used tepees or other types of temporary housing. But if you were referring to the native Americans, then there were many tribes that used teepees especially the plains Indians for they traveled and camped out near the animal herds they were following and hunting.
