When it is required to increase the gain of a differential amplifier for that we have to increase the collector resistance to a large value which is difficult and also require larger chip area ,so instead we replace it by a constant current source that is a current mirror which is called an active load.
Passive Load is Load comprising of Passive Components Active Load is the Load comprising of Active Components In Test Boards its better to use Active Loads, If you are concerned about Temperature Variations during characterisation
(On Windows), the active partition is a primary partition on a disk which Windows will load its files from. An active partition is always a startup partition. If there are several OS's on the one disk, Windows will load from the one marked as active. - pentavore
You can increase load on a bus power system by increasing the bus active power demand ans reactive power demand.
There is no 'active' power in a purely capacitive load. Active power is the result of the supply voltage multiplied by the in-phase component of the load current. In a purely capacitive load, the load current leads the supply voltage by 90 degrees and, so, there is no in-phase component and, hence, no active power.
The alternating electric current has two components: one active or effective that moves the fan the refrigerator and lights the house and another one that does not do any useful work, but is necessary to sustain the magnetic fields for the induction devices. Both components load the wiring. The non useful component is called reactive component. The active component is measured by the watt-hour meter and the reactive component is measured by var-hour meters. When the load is high, it might be desirable to measure the reactive component to have an idea of the total load called apparent load. The ratio of the active load and the total or apparent load is called the power factor of the supplied load. The power factor varies between 0 and 1.0. The closer to 1.0, the better used the power is. See Reactive Power Management by R. Barreto in Amazon Kindle version.

For a single-phase system, active (or 'true') power is the product of the supply voltage, the load current, and the power factor of the load.

The active power of an inductor is zero. As we know, the active power is the result of product of supply voltage and in-phase component of load current. But the load current in pure inductive load lags supply voltage by 90 degrees. So there is no component of load current that is in-phase with the supply voltage. Therefore, the active power in inductive reactance is zero.

Another way to increase the gain is to reduce the ac dynamic resistance which leads to low input range so using the active load is the best way out.

You will need soft ware and down load programs. All so you need no money. First up load the soft ware program and then google active primary. Take a look at the results and the click the one that says active primary. Within about an hour soft wares and down load systems will be done loading and you may have active primary on your laptop or computer. If you do not have soft ware sockets three's not much you can do. Soft ware sockets at asda usually cost £10 so you can buy some cheap ones there or sainsburys are about a 5er.

There is no way! How bout u get ur lazy ass up and do something active
No. If the load is truly resistive, just measure the voltage across the load (in volts)and the current flowing in it (in amps) and multiply them. eg: 115 volts at 1.5 amps = 172.5 watts.
