When an airplane is moving forward through the air at too slow a pace to continue flying A vacuum forms in front of the leading edge of the wing. A tube running from this point into the cabin the warning in a Cessna sounds like a party whistle. This is a particularly important tool while landing as it is important that air speed is maintained when you are close to the ground. When a plane stalls it dives downwards until it regains air speed, which I once found out, is really scary when you're about a hundred feet off the ground.

Who invented airplane stall warning?

the person who invented the airplane stall warning is Leonard Michael Greene.

When During an approach to a stall an increased load factor will cause the airplane to do what?

stall at a higher airspeed.

What colour are the warning lights of an airplane?

Red

What is the effect of stall on an airplane?

When an airplane stalls, the wings lose lift for a brief period. This makes the airplane pitch down sharply to regain airspeed and resume flying.

What is the date the airplane stall warning invented?

In the mid-1940s, Greene developed the first practical way to warn the pilot of the aerodynamic stall. His first design and apparatus included threaded bolts, a bicycle horn and other odd components, all powered by flashlight batteries. Greene filed his device for a patent in 1944, and the patent was issued in 1949. In order to develop his design, Greene founded the Safe Flight Instrument Corporation in White Plains, NY, in 1946. There, he refined and marketed the stall warning indicator.

What are the flaps on an airplane used for?

The flaps on an airplane are there for two reasons: Drag and lift. As an airplane lines up with the runway and descends, it must slow down. Several things are done to slow down, such as throttle the engines down and lower the gear. However is some airplanes, to slow down and remain slow they must extend the flaps. These cause extra drag, which slows the airplane down. They are usually extended in increments while on approach. The second reason is for lift. As an airplane get slower, the wings get less and less effective, and once it gets slow enough, it may stall. To prevent a stall, airplanes lower flaps. These redirect air downward, pushing the airplane up. This allows it to fly slower, past its "clean" stall speed. (Clean stall speed refers to an airplane's stall speed with no flaps or landing gear extended) Some airplanes can fly nearly 100 knots slower with full flaps. The stall speed with full flaps and landing gear extended is known as "dirty" or "landing configuration" stall speed. This is much slower than "clean" stall speed.

What happens when a flying airplane has less thrust than drag?

It will stall and begin to lose altitude.

What will the angle of attack at which an airplane wing stalls at is do to what?

The plane stall remain the same regardless of gross weight.

Where is stall warning vane located in Airbus 330?

Airbus aircraft do not use stall vanes for stall warning. Airbus use a sophisticated system of stall prevention instead, with the angle of attack and slat settings are primary parameters in the fly-by-wire computer system. The angle of attack is determined by two electrically heated alpha probes on either side of the forward fuselage. As the aircraft approaches a stall condition, (in normal law) the flight computers take control and return controls to a non-stall position.

What control stall margin?

Stall margin is the difference in the critical angle of attack and the angle of attack in which you are operating.Example:Suppose, critical angle of attack= 15°AOA operating in a flight= 5°then, Lift by the wing balances the weight of the airplane with a STALL MARGIN= 10°Stall Margin is being controlled by an angle of attack and the position of flap control..CHEERS!

Red airplane warning light capitol records flashes what word in Morse code?

Hollywood

Why do planes stall?

Because of the airflow suddently stops to flow over the wings and not enough flow to keep te airplane in the air
