I am not sure if I can tell you the traditional way of celebrating but I can tell you how the Romans celebrated and rang in the New Year in 2005! We celebrated New Years Eve in 2005 in Rome and It was beautiful!
It was very wild next to the Spanish Steps in Rome where everyone gathered. After the New Years rang in people threw plates, fireworks and many jumped in the fountains!
