The most common place where fresh water meets the sea is called an estuary. Although the name used may vary depending on the local geography (Fjord in Norway, Loch in Scotland, Boca in Latin America, Deltas in other places).

In short - I think the word you are looking for is estuary.

Note that fresh water also meets the sea when rain fall arrives at the surface. It also meets the sea when sea ice melts.
