Echolocation is the ability certain animals have to use sounds to navigate. They make sound and by hearing where it "bounces" from (hence the "echo") they are able to tell where something is located.
determining the location of something by measuring the time it takes for an echo to return from it
it is sound waves to an object or an animal to catch it's prey or spot something. ;) :0 :-)

Dolphins, as well as other sea mammals, use ecolocation as a way to identify their surroundings, just like humans use eyes. They need, however, to use this because light does not penetrate enough through the water to allow them to have a clear vision. Most sea animals have adapted their bodies to respond to this (dolphins use ecolocation, sharks use electric sensors, etc). Besides, recent studies link the dolphin's ecolocation to a more complex system of comunication and identification of individuals, just like we use names. Hope this helps
I have heard but only one person in the world gas mastered it
