To use System Information, in the Run dialog box, type Msinfo32 and press Enter.
Well there's quite a few ways of doing this.I would recommend you open up start menu then right click on my computer and it should come up with all the system information including how much RAM is installed on your PC. Another way of doing this is going to start menu clicking on run then type in the box dxdiag then press ok. Here you will also find all the details including how much RAM(memory) you have. Good luck as per Page 231 of the A+ guide to hardware text, the applying concepts box at the bottom, to use system information, in the Run dialog box type Msinfo32 and press enter MSINFO32.

Go - Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System information. or Start -> Run -> msinfo32 or from Windows Explorer -> Help -> About -> System information you find windows operating system by: going to an electronics store, and getting a HP, or a dell. but look on the box of the computer to see the operating system.
Typically the BIOS shows how much memory you have, how fast the CPU is, and how large the hard drives are. Occassionally, for some computers, a list of detected devices is shown during bootup. In Windows, you can use built-in features like System Properties, Device Manager, or MSInfo32 to list even more details.
