Well there's quite a few ways of doing this.I would recommend you open up start menu then right click on my computer and it should come up with all the system information including how much RAM is installed on your PC.
Another way of doing this is going to start menu clicking on run then type in the box dxdiag then press ok. Here you will also find all the details including how much RAM(memory) you have.
Good luck as per Page 231 of the A+ guide to hardware text, the applying concepts box at the bottom, to use system information, in the Run dialog box type Msinfo32 and press enter MSINFO32.
Not sure what the run command is. But, if running Windows XP, you can go to Start Menu -> Control Panel -> System and look under the General tab to find how much RAM you computer has.
to launch the system information system utility in the run dialog box type Msinfo32 and press enter.
in windows xp run msinfo32
Msinfo32

You can enter Msinfo32.exe in the run dialog.

Type conf.exe as a run command.
Dialog box
You can display prompts on the command line instead of using a dialog box, or switch back again. This option is useful primarily when using scripts. Some functions are available both on the command line and in a dialog box. In many cases, you can enter a hyphen before the command to suppress the dialog box and display prompts on the command line instead. For example, entering layer on the command line displays the Layer Properties Manager. Entering -layer on the command line displays the equivalent command line options. Suppressing the dialog box is useful for compatibility with earlier versions of GstarCAD? and for using script files. There may be slight differences between the options in the dialog box and those available on the command line.
