Hm, I would say 1. Let's review the four "Ansems": 1.) There's Ansem the Wise, aka Diz, the "original" Ansem. 2.) His heartless is also called Ansem. Heartless Ansem was the only one who claimed to be the original Ansem, so that's why only he is really an imposter. 3.) Ansem's nobody, Xemnas (Ansem remixed + an x), looks almost exactly the same as heartless Ansem, but this one does not claim to be anyone but what he is. 4.) But if you really want to split hairs, you could count Riku as one of the "Ansems" after his appearance was transformed to look exactly like heartless Ansem. He changes back later on. Convuluted, no? :)
Why did Ansem the Wise make Emblem Heartless?
Ansem began researching on the Heartless, after observing their violent natures, during his time on Radiant Gardens. After experimenting with different types heartless, he wrote his report, known as Ansem's Report. In his report, he had stated that the Heartless seemed to act on instinct, and attacked people, attempting to re-obtain the hearts they had lost. During the time he wrote his report, he had attempted to create Heartless of his own, which were known as artificial heartless. By comparing the artificial and pure blooded heartless, he concluded that they were nearly identical. To separate the two groups of Heartless, he printed emblems on his artificial heartless.
