In Boulder CO (Aug 2008) I received an estimate for $0.75/sq ft per for tearing out carpet which works out to $6.75 per sq yard. I have seen other sites give a guide line of between $3 and $5 per sq yard so the $6.75 seems a bit high. This is a "tear out" only fee it does not include the "dump" fee which was quoted on a "per room" basis at about $65 per 300 sq ft room.
My guess is that the "tear out fee" can vary quite a bit depending on what other work you have done. For example if you are installing hard wood floors at $5.00 sq ft (labor) they might include free carpet removal. BTW I'm not very experienced flooring so please double check all these figures. Good luck.
The average handle time is a very important statistic that relates directly to staffing needs, employee performance, and average call cost. If the average handle time is five minutes then you can predict how many employees you need to handle the expected call volume, you can define the average labor cost per call and measure which employees are below average in their performance to identify them for further monitoring or training.
