Consult the manufacturer's documentation for how to extend battery life on a given laptop. Things will differ.
From what I have seen in the documentation I have read it does nothing either way to remove the battery, unless you swap in a fully charged one. (I have a couple of laptops that I do exactly this, I have 2 batteries for each so I can swap in the fully charged one, then when both are discharged I recharge both. For both machines the manufacturer suggested always deep discharging batteries to extend their life.)
Apple seems to recommend keeping both permanent and removable batteries near full charge most of the time, with an occasional deep discharge followed by fully recharging them. The exception to this is if the machine will be unused for several months, the battery should be discharged to about 25% of capacity before putting the machine in storage, then immediately fully recharged after removing the machine from storage before use.
But other laptop manufacturers may have entirely different recommendations.
It depends on what kind of laptop you have. Different laptops take different batteries. You should try www.ebay.com. Also www.amazon.com, and look up what battery yours takes first.
not really. if you take out the battery when plugged in you could short circuit the laptop. trust me i know.
Your battery may be worn out. When you use electricity to run the laptop your battery should not be in your laptop. The power will run through the battery making it drain. Either replace your battery, or take it to get it check out if it is still under warrenty.
Well, that is actually a little bit weird. None website should drain your laptop battery...
You should leave it for at least an hour and make sure that the battery finishes turn it back on and it will work if yours is constant(laptop or computer) take it to a computer scientist
Turn your laptop over, theres a slide catch on nearly all laptops, slide it over and take out your battery, you can have a guess then at what size it is.
When I plug in my laptop, it does not use the battery to run the computer. Instead, it uses the wall outlet to run the computer and to recharge the battery. So, by leaving my battery in my laptop when it is plugged in, I am recharging my battery and not running it down. If you take the battery out of your laptop and do not recharge it, it will not last long. The computer batteries that I know about can go from 2 to 8 hours without being recharged.
well i have a laptop so if you keep your battery on your laptop forever like since you got it will get use to your laptop and it wont do anything but if you keep it on for a little bit then take it off
Take out the battery and it will shutdown.
Take the battery out and let it cool down
The problem is the Laptop is faling to charge the battery (state the obvious!) 1) Either the charging circuit has failed, or the connection to the battery or 2) The battery has failed How old is the laptop? if still under warranty return it to the vendor or better take it and get them to try a replacement battery in it. Or take it somewhere 'friendly' where the same laptop is sold and get them to check it out Has the battery any charge indicators on it if you remove if from the laptop? Do they light up if the battery is totally flat they won't Has anyone you know with a laptop got the same battery in it, swap the batteries if so and see if it charges.
remove it, put it back in, charge, and take it out again.
