Forget the Peroxide. There are 2 other things that will remove the smell but do NOT mix them together or you may have some poisonous gases going on or a small explosion :0). You could try vinegar, straight and undiluted mixed with a small amount of Mr. Clean. Or you can try the bleach, diluted down, about 1 part bleach to 5-8 parts water (wear gloves as hard on your hands). But again do not mix the vinegar and bleach together, bad bad combination.

There are also some commercial items available that are suppose to cut down the smell but I think you cannot beat either vinegar or bleach, used separately.
