Bank 2 means that you have a "v" type motor.bank 1 is identified by cylinder #1-so that means the other bank is bank-2 . in to days engine management systems their is a O2 sensor on each exhaust manifold and one at the end of the cat. I suspect that you have a fuel mixture problem. the first thing you should do is get a code pulled or read with a scan tool. You can go to someplace like auto zone, Pep boys-they usually will pull the code for free, when they do ask them what the code means, and get a copy or write it down, that includes all codes
You dont
P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
Catalyst system efficiency below threshold, bank 1. Catalyst system efficiency below threshold, bank 1.
Trouble code P0430 means: Catalyst System Efficiency Bank 2 Below Threshold
Trouble code P0430 means: Catalyst System Efficiency Bank 2 Below Threshold
Exhaust leak, failed oxygen sensor, failed catalytic converter.
Bank 1 is the upper oxygen sensor(s) before the catalyst (catalytic converter) bank 2 is the oxygen sensor after the catalyst (catalytic converter)
Bank 2 is opposite of where cylinder 1 is. Sensor 1 is before the catalyst.Bank 2 is opposite of where cylinder 1 is. Sensor 1 is before the catalyst.
Left would be driver side.
That code means catalyst system fault (left bank)
That truck has 4 o2 sensors, there are two catalyst converters on this truck as well. Bank one (Driver side), bank 2 (passenger side), sensor one is before the catalyst converter , sensor 2 after. There are two catalyst converters on this truck as well. Follow the exhaust system back from the engine and you will find them. A scan will tell you which one you are looking for.
