The board is printed with the negative (in the sense of a photographic image) of the design that is desired on the finished board, in a material that is impervious to the solvent that will subsequently be applied to the board. When that solvent is applied the parts of the board that have not received the printed image are etched away leaving the desired circuitry.

What is the process to manufacture PCB?

A PCB is printed circuit board. The steps in manufacturing a PCB include generating a film, shearing raw material, drilling holes, applying an image, build a pattern plate, removing the dryfilm and etching copper, applying a soldering mask and coat, then finally, fabrication of the product.

What tools are used to perform PCB etching at home?

The tools that are used to perform the process of PCB etching when done at home are things such as Muratic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, a laser printer, PCB drill bits, quality magazine pages, a one ounce copper clad, and lacquer thinner.

What does PCB Manufacturers make?

PCB Manufacturers make printed circuit boards for computers and electronic devices. They allow for automation in the manufacturing process of computers.

Why etching is done on PCB?

pcb is a copper sheet. once we prepare the layout, we need the tracks which gets covered by copper. Therefore, to remove excess copper from the pcb etching is done.

What are the stages involved when making a pcb?

The basic stages involved in making a pcb (printed circuit board ) are: Designing the traces on paper or an autocad style computer application. Using a transfer or mask to apply a resist to a copper clad board Spraying or putting the copper clad board into an etching bath of acid. The etching bath removes the copper that was not protected by the resist. Washing the etching solution off to stop the process. Removing the resist that protected the copper.

What is ENIG?

Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold, a process used in printed circuit board manufacturing to give the PCB a cleaner solder contact.

What kind of job is a PCB job?

A PCB job is one that is involved in the light manufacturing of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB's). This tends to involve soldering and light assembly of electronic goods.

How do you make pcb's?

Printed circuit boards (PCBs) are designed using Electronics Design Automation (EDA) tools and then fabricated in PCB manufacturing factories. PCB design involves both front end design (design, schematics entry) and backend (PCB layout/artwork design). The final design files are then released to PCB fabrication for manufacturing the bare boards. Electronic compoments can then assembled on these boards to achieve designed circuits.

What are some companies involved in PCB manufacturing?

Technotronix, PCB Pool, Alimatron, PCB Fabrication, Custom Circuit Boards, Gold Phoenix PCB, San Francisco Circuits and Sun Stone are a few of the companies that are involved in PCB manufacturing.
