ANSWER: There are multiple religions in china most of which are outlawed. There is an extremely large Christian population but the christian churches are illegal and remain "underground". There is also a plethera of buddists most commonly from Tibet which remains under disputed Chinese control. Some also worship the holy Chairman Mao who helped unite China and make it a powerful communist society.

I don't know what inspires Leiferiklarson, but as far as I know, in history there are actually Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism in China. Catholic churches can only be seen one or two hundred years ago. However, Chinese are not serious about their religions very much and there is no religious war in the whole Chinese history.
If you have ever been in China, you will find there are all kinds of churches and temples everywhere, but the Han Chinese, which stand 90% of all China's population, only go to these churches and temples for fun. Instead of monotheism, most of Han Chinese warship their own ancestors, but they only remember to pray when they really need the good luck.
At the end of the year, Chinese will "invite" the past members of family to join the feast by putting a board with names on it to show their respects.
It is tough to breakdown Chinese religion into a pie chart of other graph. In the West, we think of someone as either a Christian, or a Jew, or a Muslim; it is not possible for someone to be both a Christian and a Muslim. However, this was not the case in China. It was not only possible but common for someone to turn to Confucianism for family and ethical concerns, to Daoism (sometimes spelled Taoism, but Daoism is preferred today) for physical and psychological health concerns, to Buddhism for funeral procedures, and to the local gods and spirits unconnected with these three traditions, to deal with more mundane concerns. And there is always other religions sprinkled in.
