The Kuiper Belt begins somewhere past the orbit of Neptune; the dwarf planet Pluto is technically a Kuiper Belt Object.
The Oort Cloud is hypothesized as being much farther out. Comets that approach the Sun inevitably will lose mass and disintegrate in much less than a billion years. But the Earth is about 4.6 billion years old, and we're still seeing comets. There must be a repository of pre-comet objects in distant orbits, and something probably occasionally perturbs an Oort cloud object and causes it to drop into the inner solar system.
Kuiper Belt Objects
The Kuiper belt is a donut shaped area that is past Neptune. the Oort cloud is sphere shaped and is an area past Pluto.
The Oort cloud
There are no know belts beyond the Kuiper belt, but there is the hypothetical Oort cloud. See related question
No. Regions in outer space.
a spherical cloud of cometary nuclei far beyond the Kuiper Belt
The Kuiper belt is composed of asteroids and the Orrt cloud is composed of comets.
The Kuiper Belt and the Oort Cloud.
It is believed that there is a large cloud of comets, called the Oort Cloud, orbiting the Sun at a relatively large distance. Now and then, one of them is budged by gravitational forces; as a result, they come closer to the Sun - where we are.
The Oort cloud is generally much further out than the Kuiper belt, so Oort cloud objects will generally take a lot longer to orbit our sun.
The Oort cloud. However, technically the Oort cloud IS part of our Solar System.See related link for more information.
in in between the kuiper belt and oort cloud
Comets have two main sources, the Oort Cloud or the Kuiper Belt
