It depends on what kind of dog it is, if it is short-haired or small breed it most likely needs to stay indoors. If it is a large breed with a thicker coat, it needs food and water of course but also a dog house or four wall shelter with hay or blankets inside. I am not an expert but I do have experience and that is adequate even though it is always best to have them inside as much as possible!
