Windows Server operating systems offer cloud computing built into the OS, and a good solution for other windows systems is the online based Windows Live SkyDrive.
Ubuntu, Android, Archlinux, Debian, Gentoo, DD-WRT, TiVo firmware, Chrome OS, Web OS... Need I go on?
Operating system
The could Servers run as Operating Systems. So the OS you will instal will be the cloud OS and not a regular one.
Desktop OS is like windows XP professional or home edition, or Mac OS X. Network I believe is either one based on being in a network, like a cloud computing OS; or a server operating system, which tells the computer how to host websites and files in a network, including the internet.
Debian based OS based off Ubuntu 8.04. Slight kernel modifications. Said to be faster than Ubuntu.
Historically installing Debian has not been a very user friendly process. There are automated installers now but it can still be a fiddly job. The easiest way is probably to use Virtual Box (See links below). If it does not have to Debian itself then Ubuntu is probably a neater solution and is itself based on Debian. But if you are running Mac OS X you already have a full UNIX system so may not need a pretend one.
pervasive computing
GNU/Linux? Plenty. Debian, Ubuntu, Arch Linux, Gentoo, Slackware, Fedora, and many more. Non-GNU Linux? Android.
well the main difference is that in a parallel system there is multiple computing units (cpu) working in one node(they share memory ,attached devices , storage...) to accomplish a computing goal in a clustered there is multiple nodes each has its own resources running its own copy of os (usually connected via lan) to accomplish a computing goal
