Why doesn't pain medications work for you?
Narcotic pain medication does not work for me any longer because I have a extremely high tolerance as I have been using them daily for 290 years. I have a disease called Hidradenitis Suppurativa, I have had 160 plus surgical procedures, I have contracted hepatitis c, diabetis, I have no strength, I get confused,I have lost the use of my right arm, I had 2 strokes, been in several comas. I have been to the best hospitals in the USA, and the disease has just continued to spread. There is no cure and it is very painful. I have been thinking of suicide. I have no famoly that I speak to other than my mom, and she is 81, and she is also ill. I have 2 Shi-Tzu;s that are like my children. They offer me much more comfort than any Dr or medication. I do not want to die, I am only 47. i am scared of dying, because I don't know where a person who has never done anything in his life positive will go. I hope God will forgive me for a wasted life. I am so shy it is far from normal. I feel everyone is talking about me, I was afraid to talk to girls because I felt I was going to be made a fool of, so I guess I am paranoid also. My life is spent in bed. I cannot eat, I cannot use the bathroom like normal people. I do not have normal bowel movements, I have to use a glove and remove impacted waste about every 10-14 days. I told Dr.s about this and they dismiss it. That is very painful also. I feel I am being repaid for wasting my life. I have nothing to leave behind to show I ever lived. I am only comfortavble with my Shi-Tzu;s. I argue with my mother, I go out of my head and hallucinate. I do not take a lot of pain meds, I am in severe pain, but the pills do not work. God forgive for wasting the gifts you gave me. My illness is very real, it is a heriditary disease, and ny older sisters have it, but not nearly as bad as I do. The entire right side of my head has a active infection as I write this. I am hurting. I have a wound under my arm that has been open for 20 years, my groin is covered with painful lesions. I am a coward also. I do not fear death as much as I fear what may await me on the other side.I Pray God will Forgive me. I never stood in front of a Church, not because I am ashamed or embarrased by wanting to have God in my life, but my shyness is so bad, I cannot speak in public. Since my stroke or whatever I had that caused me to lapse into 2 comas I have difficulty speaking to anyone, I get flustered and I stutter and I forget what I am saying. I have taken almost every pain medication we have. Morhine, Dilaudid, Fentanyl, Oxycodone, oxycontin,hydrocodone,codein, demeral injections, demeral pills, methadone, and combinations of xanax,valium,and combinations of the above drugs. This has been over 20 years that I took these meds, and all were given to me by surgeons and pain specialist. I have nothing left that can be done medically. IF my liver does not fail first, I have had internal bleeding before that caused severe pain and swelling in my groin and legs. Walking was extremely painful, and my legs were purple and my groin was as big as a grapefruit. When I was given a shot of contrast to show were I was bleeding from, my groin hurt very bad and the burning was awful. That is where I was bleeding from. I have no idea what I hope to gain by writing this, we are all going to die. Some people are braver than I am. I have a idea of what those on death row must feel when they arrive there. They know they are going to die, when is the question. Just for the record I am no longer a big fan of the death penalty as so many people have been found to have been innocent after years on death row. I do feel some deserve to die, I want no part of killing anyone other than 1 cowardly pervert who I intend to kill before I leave this world. Thanks for reading. What happens if you take other drugs while taking methadone?
ANSWER:Quite simply, it can kill you. Doctors are not allowed to perscribe anything to people who are on methodone because of adverse reactions that can occur. Not even acetiminophen. When your body is on the methodone program, its defenses are so limited that any foreign drug can have dynamic adverse side effects. It would be advised to ask a phisician as to whether any other drug can be safely taken, some are much worse that others. Good luck on your program and I hope you decide to cut the dosage down as quickly and finally graduate off of it. God Bless. Not true. I was prescribed 8mg Hydromorphone 3x daily as needed 5mg Methadone 3x daily and 5 mg Valuim Diazipam 1x daily at night!! I did not like the Methadone at all!! I mean it did the job pain wise very well, but i didnt like the side affects. i even quit the Hydromorphone and Valium to see if it would matter and it did not it still did great for the pain but made me sick and feel really off. I am now on MS Contin and the hydromrphn and vluim Hope this helpsI was on methadone for almost 10 years at one time was off for almost 5 and am back on. I am getting a triple back fusion next Monday and I fear them giving me the wrong medication as 2 hospitals have done in the past. When I gave birth to my son I was given a drug called "Nubaine" (opiate)that put me in immediate methadone withdrawl while having labor pains 3 minutes apart and they left me like that for 3 hours until they found 80mgs of methadone throughout the entire hospital. They were supposed to be ready for me when I arrived, for I called ahead, and they were not prepared whatsoever. Another situation, went to a hospital for the back injury I spoke of getting fixed earlier and they gave me demeral, once again I was put into immediate withdrawl. After each happened I went back to the clinic on my next dosing day and they actually laughed about how sick I must have got while giving labor from the "nubaine" (my son almost died when being born, he was under complete duress and had speech problems for years, now is fine at 10 years old), this showed how incencitive the clinic was towards my well-being at one of the most beautiful moments of my life and the suffering I went through, they just didnt care, ugh. So far I know they are two and I do know there are 3 more that will definetly put you in withdrawl but the names of them are so hard to pronounce let alone remember but I do believe they were a type of opiate (not many I havent taken from a broken back with herniated discs....tired of pain management, time to get it fixed. I hope my experience helps someone else not go through what I did.....ever and would love for someone to share with me also any other drugs that cause withdrawl. I had been on many benzos, depression, and bi-polar meds when on the clinic and none of them caused withdrawl, something happens with certain other opiates that kicks the methadone out (dilaudid, as mentioned above, was fine when given those on methadone).
