the 440 has much more power but the 383 is louder
the 440 is harder to find
The short answer is yes, anything is possible (...but why?)
This is hard to answer without the engine size. There are magnums, 340, 383, 440.
The Dodge 383 is not a stroker like a Chevy small block engine. The 383 was a factory offering from Chrysler, and is one of the "B" series engines. It is very similar to the other Chrysler big blocks like the 413, 426, 400 and 440.
its likely a 318, maybe a 360. neither of the two you mentioned.
440 engine or the model 440 dodge?
I assume you mean dodge coronet. The 70' came standard with slant six, optional 318, 383 two barrel, four barrel, 440 magnum and Hemi.
In 1969 Dodge made several V-8 engines: 273 cu in. 318 cu in. 361 cu in. 383 cu in. 426 cu in. 440 cu in.
slant 6, 318, 340, 360, 383, 400, 426, 440 some of these engines came in hemi's and magnum's
I believe that faces towards the front and towards the passenger side ( same as the 383 , 400 , 426 Hemi , and 440 )
HEMI , 383 or 440 ?
318 =160 hp 360 =180 hp 400 =200 hp 383 =258 hp 440 =235 hp all where found in dodge trucks from 1972 to 1980
the new one has 425 and the old super bee could be had with a 383 with 335 horse or the 440 with 375 or the hemi with 425 under rated horse.
