Being mainstream in terms of gender means you mostly conform to the prevailing gender role for your gender and are not a part of the LGBT.

Interestingly, even genuine transsexuals can be a part of the mainstream since they are not a type of TG nor other LGBT person and since conformity is the reason they transition. They transition to destroy as much difference in themselves and their identified gender as possible, unlike TGs who transition to become different or to exhibit difference.

So being mainstream is mostly a mindset and based on behaviors. It is not about income class or minority status, since even the most marginalized can identify as a part of the mainstream and act accordingly, even if others in the mainstream fail to recognize their mainstream nature and behavior. Who someone is does not depend on the opinions of others to exist or have validity. Even if a committee decides that the sky is green with purple polka dots, it is still blue.

Political budgeting can lead to budget decisions that may prioritize short-term gains over long-term fiscal stability.
