No, you silly goose, the 2.3 liter 140 CI ford engine has a bore diameter of 3.78" and the Chevy 350 has a bore diameter of 4.0 inches... :)
easiest method is to pull the head and measuure the bore and check with the local machinist
In GM trucks or new GM cars, the 8th digit of the VIN # is the Engine.
Im not sure the maximum but I think you can bore out to at least 361.

There are four engines that GM installed in the 3rd generation j-body. The most common was the 2.2l ohc engine. The z24 had the 2.4l ld9 engine. The 1995 model z24 had a 2.3l high output engine. The final engine was the 2.2l l61 ecotec engine. All of these engines can be installed in the 2000 cavalier. This would require swapping the wiring, or fabricating your own. It is a difficult task, but can be done if you want to put in the time. There have also been several v6 swaps. The engine bay can accommodate most gm v6 engines, but the engine mounts have to be custom fabricated. Or, if you want to create a money pit, you can swap in a Northstar V8.... It all depends on how much money you want to spend.
(In 1999 the 2.4 or LD9 didn't have an egr valve on the 1998 LD9 the egr valve is on the tranny side of the motor towards the front of the car.) This answer is only partially correct.... Your car may or may not have one. Gm switched half way through 99 to a non EGR setup. So... Some had it and some didn't. IF you do have one it is extremely easy to find. It is on the front, top, driver side of the engine(just a few enchis from your battery). Just next to the Black blastic intake manifold. Look for a Black round plastic device mounted on top of a metal triangular part, that has a metal flex tube coming off the front of it. Bingo, EGR. If there is nothing there then your car is mid 1999 and up with no EGR.
