There was once a South Vietnam in the 20th Century; there is no, nor has there been, a South Vietnam in the 21st century.
There is NO North Vietnam & South Vietnam today (and there hasn't been a north & south for over 30 years; when the north conquered the south, ending the war in 1975). Today's Communist Vietnam is President Triet.

The capital of South Vietnam before the Vietnam War is Saigon. It is still used today, but Ho Chi Minh City is more common these days.
