Generally speaking, the ibex is counted among the nine species of the Capra genus. They have high elevation ranges from Spain (the Spanishibex) to Asia (such as the Siberianibex, traditionally treated as a subspecies of the Alpine ibex). Archaeological records are sketchy, at best.
