The New Testament is a part of The Bible, which is a collection of 27 books that were written over a 50 year period by eye witnesses and followers of Jesus Christ. It tells about the life of Jesus and His teachings. The first five books are very historical and are a biography of God's Son Jesus Christ life and the years immediately after His crucifixion. The following 21 books deal with Jesus' teaching and the way to live as God intended us to and how to get to Heaven. The final book, Revelation is a very interesting, but complicated book about the return of Christ and the end of the world. The main thing that the New Testament teaches us is how to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. It says that no person can get to Heaven without Jesus Christ in their life. It tells you how to do that. It is a wonderful book and it has the power to change a person's life.

The Bible is about relationship with God. Moses established the first testament - the Old Testament - when the Israelites first came out of Egypt. (Exodus 19 - 24, especially 24:8).

The body of writing in the Old Testament concerns Man's relationship to God through the keeping of the Law, or Torah. Jesus established the New Testament (John 6:53 - 58, Luke 22:19,20) at the Last Supper. The body of writing in the New Testament concerns Man's relationship to God through belief in Jesus and His sacrifice for the sin all of mankind in all time. The New Testament is important to the Christians because its focus is Jesus.

The New Testament is "the COMPLETION of the Bible" by Christ's disciples... God's final testimony, witness and warning to the world of THE FUTURE; His plan regarding what is to come upon the nations of the earth.

BIND UP the testimony, SEAL THE LAW among My disciples." (Isa.8:16 KJV) [it's the prophesied completion of God's Written Word]

The New Living Translation [NLT] says it this way:

"I will write down all these things as a testimony of WHAT THE LORD WILL DO. I will entrust it to My disciples, WHO WILL PASS IT DOWN TO FUTURE GENERATIONS.

I will wait for the LORD to help us, though He has turned away from the people of Israel. MY ONLY HOPE IS IN HIM. I and the children the LORD has given me have names that REVEAL THE PLANS OF THE LORD ALMIGHTY HAS FOR HIS PEOPLE.

So why are you trying to find out the future by consulting mediums and psychics? Do not listen to their whisperings and mutterings. Can the living find out the future from the dead? Why not ask God?

'Check their predictions against MY TESTIMONY,' says the LORD. 'If their predictions are different from Mine, it is because there is NO LIGHT OR TRUTH in them.

22 NLT)

The significance of the New Testament is lost on this present society that has gone far astray from the Truth and Spiritual Illumination [Light] of God's Word. But in the coming Judgment... the "Last Great Day" and final phase of God's plan... when Jesus Christ once again stands on the earth, and all "the books of the Bible will be opened" and laid out for all to see. The Bible, then, will become the "measuring stick" by which all men shall be Judged:

"And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the [resurrected] dead were judged according TO THE THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOKS, according TO WHAT THEY HAD DONE [according to their life's works]." (Rev.20:12 NLT)

The New Testament does not work alone, however. It's the COMPLETION OF THE OLD! The complete prophetic testimony of man's Creator, Jesus Christ [see John 1:3 & 10] that speaks to the final fulfillment of the prophecies of the Scriptures:

When I was with you before [before His crucifixion], I told you EVERYTHING WRITTEN ABOUT ME by MOSES and the PROPHETS and in the PSALMS [Christ's breakdown of the Old Testament] MUST ALL COME TRUE.'" (Luke 24:44 NLT] [must all be fulfilled by the end of God's plan]

The New Testament is a witness to the beginnings of the fulfillment of the first three phases of the ancient Old Testament prophecies: the first three "Spring Harvest phases of the Firstfruits {firstborn generation} of God's Children;"

1): the Passover - Christ's physical, merciful, sin-forgiving sacrifice for His creation by the shedding of His Divine blood, His Divine DNA.

2): the Days of Unleavened Bread - the latter day spiritual illumination, clarity and understanding of the Scriptures by God's Faithful servants that even Daniel didn't understand when he wrote them down:

"I heard what He said, but I DID NOT UNDERSTAND what He meant. So I asked, 'How will all these things finally end, my LORD?' But He said, 'Go now, Daniel, for what I have said IS FOR THE TIME OF THE END. Many will be purified, cleansed, and refined by these trials. But the wicked will continue in their wickedness, and NONE OF THEM WILL UNDERSTAND. Only those who are WISE ["The fear of the LORD is the beginning of WISDOM..." - Prov.9:10] WILL KNOW WHAT IT MEANS.'" (Dan.12:8-10 NLT)

And 3): Pentecost - the bestowing of God's Holy Spirit upon all who call upon Him [Jew or Gentile].

The New Testament testifies to these "ongoing fulfillments" of the early phases of God's plan of salvation that shall continue until Christ returns. And the New Testament testifies, also, to the quickly-approaching time of Christ's return when He will fulfill the last phases of the plan; the removal of man's Satan-led governments and the establishment of His Kingdom on the earth.

The ENTIRE BIBLE, however, shall be a COMPLETE CASE HISTORY and EVIDENCE the LORD shall use in the coming TRIAL of both "angels and men" on JUDGMENT DAY.

"For God did not spare [treat leniently; Strong's Definitions] even the angels that sinned; He threw them into hell [tartaroo; a temporary spiritual condition of restraint, limitation or imprisonment], in gloomy caves and darkness UNTIL THE JUDGMENT DAY." (II Peter 2:4 NLT)

This Satan-ruled world remains ignorant of the importance of the New Testament [and the Old Testament for that matter] for now, worshiping Satan the Dragon as it does:

"They [all the world] worshiped the Dragon [Satan - see Rev.12:9] for giving the Beast [the last prophesied government of man on earth in the last days of God's plan] such power, and they worshiped the Beast..." (Rev.13:4 NLT)

But the Written Word of God will become abundantly clear to all on Judgment Day, when:

"'You will look back at all your sins and HATE YOURSELVES because of the evil you have done. YOU WILL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD, O people of Israel [and of all nations], when I have Honored My Name by TREATING YOU MERCIFULLY IN SPITE OF YOUR WICKEDNESS,' says the Sovereign LORD." (Ezek.20:43-44 NLT)

That's the importance of the New Testament [and the Old] -- the entire Bible. It reveals what man should have been learning all along about his Creator; His Loving, Giving, Merciful ways. The ways that lead to Life Eternal.

The god mankind now worships has taught man hatred, envy, lust, jealousy and greed. All the ways that lead to suffering, anguish, pain, misery and death. All the ways that are the opposite of the Creator's ways. Both ways are evident and well-documented in both testaments; but it's the ways of man's present god that appeal to the flesh; man's selfish, rebellious, carnal minded nature. The nature upon which the New Testament sheds a revealing Light:

"For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will. That's why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. But you [God's Faithful, Believing servants, to whom the Bible is directed and intended] are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled the Spirit IF YOU HAVE THE SPIRIT OF GOD LIVING IN YOU. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ Living in them ARE NOT CHRISTIANS AT ALL.)" (Rom.8:7-9 NLT)

The New Testament reveals the IDENTITY of the prophesied Messiah to the world, but this world's god has kept men's spirits deceived and blinded to it: "...although the world was made through Him, the world didn't recognize Him when He came." (John 1:10 NLT)

But still... the importance of this New Testament illumination shall remain lost on the world until the Judgment; when all men will SEE Him whom they pierce with their wicked, deceived ways. Ways that shall make the vast majority of mankind both terrified and violently ill when they finally see what they have been.

"...then at last, the sign of the Son of Man WILL APPEAR in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning AMONG ALL THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH. And they will SEE the Son of Man arrive on the clouds of heaven with Power and Glory." (Matt.24:30 NLT)

The New Testament [and the Old], for now, are only important to those Faithful, Believing, Obedient servants of God whom He has been calling out of the world for the past generations since the advent of the Messiah in the flesh. Those who are being called and are being trained by Christ through their obedience to His Commandments, to rule the Kingdom of God on earth with Him as kings and priests when He returns.

"...I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given the Authority [by Christ] to Judge... They came to Life again, and THEY REIGNED WITH CHRIST FOR A THOUSAND YEARS. This is THE FIRST RESURRECTION. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.) Blessed and Holy are those who share in the First Resurrection. For them the Second Death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him a thousand years." (Rev.20:4-6 NLT)

This is "important" for now to God's servants, only. To those who "Believe" what the Words say... to those who take HOPE in this vision of the future.

The rest of the world doesn't know or see a thing, being blinded to God's TRUTH, which only God's "wise" [those who fear Him] can understand.
