What was the importanance of kabah before Islam?
Before Islam was revealed to the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, the Kaabah was used to store over 300 idols which the Arab pagans believed her gods. There would be a yearly pilgrimage in which people would come to give gifts and money to the idols in and around the kaabah, and worship them. The Kaabah was built by command of god by Adam at the beginning of time, and rebuilt by Ibrahim and his son. Over the thousands and thousands of years mankind kept straying from Islam, and the kaabah lost its original purpose and became a place for the Arab pagans. When Muhammad, peace be upon him, conquered Makkah he destroyed all of the idols inside the kaabah.
