Interrupt flags are used to interrupt the processor on what it is doing. When the flag is triggered the processor stops what it is doing attends what the flag wants to get done and once that is done it goes back to what it was doing. It is very useful for detect bug.
Intr timer interrupt 0 and 1 external interrupt 0 and 1
By checking the interrupt register at fixed time intervals
polling interrupt is alternative to the vector interrupt , it requires that the interrupt handler poll or send a signal to each device in turn in order to find out which one is sent the interrupt request.....
There are more than one of them, the most important DOS interrupt is 21H. Consult the related link.
interrupt means to stop the execution of some task and save it, start the new task which is caused by it. interrupt increases the efficiency of a computer and caused by multi-tasking. mehmood Ahmed (Superior university)
flag manipulation instructions are which changes the flag conditions for example STC - set the carry flag STI - set the interrupt flag so interrupts will be enabled SATISH MN
The response to another interrupt request during servicing of an interrupt depends on the setting of the interrupt enable flag and/or the interrupt mask. If the interrupt service routine is thread safe, it will process correctly. More probably, problems will arise so the proper procedure is to either set the interrupt mask (8085) to not allow this or lower priority interrupts before reenabling interrupt, or to leave interrupts disabled until this iteration is complete. If interrupts are disabled or masked, a subsequent interrupt will be posted but not processed until the first is completed.
A hardware interrupt is initiated from a hardware event, such as a byte received from a serial port. It is asynchronous to the running program, i.e. it can occur at any time. An internal, or software, interrupt is initiated by the running program, thus it is under the control of the running program. In the 8085, for instance, the RST instructions are software interrupts. Note, however, that external interrupts can initiate a software RST instruction, so the two events can appear to be the same kind of event. The biggest difference is the handling of the interrupt enable (IE) flag. In the hardware interrupt, the IE flag is turned off when processing the interrupt, and it is turned on right before the interrupt service routine executes the final return instruction. The software interrupt, on the other hand, has nothing to do with IE. As a result, the code must be able to tell the difference.
The CPU does not "know" it is not a thinking being. What happens is that the interrupt flag ( a binary true or false register) is detected by the operating system which is being executed by the CPU and the code of the operating system runs a routine in response.
An interrupt vector is the memory address of an interrupt handler, or an index into an array called an interrupt vector table or dispatch table. Interrupt vector tables contain the memory addresses of interrupt handlers. When an interrupt is generated, the processor saves its execution state via a context switch, and begins execution of the interrupt handler at the interrupt vector.
By ABDULLAH ABID Secretary Info & IT GLOBAL PEACE COUNCIL PAKISTAN. http://h.1asphost.com/gpcp/org The Interrupt-In-Service-Flag is set at the beginning of an interrupt-acknowledge cycle. It is reset by the IRET (Interrupt-RETurn) instruction. When IIS is set, interrupts are disabled. When the Status-register is read, IIS always reads as '0'.
"You should not interrupt class," the teacher scolded the boy.
In the 8086/8088, the interrupt vector table is the first 1024 bytes of memory. In the 8085, the interrupt vector table is the first 64 bytes of memory if using the RST form of interrupt, otherwise the interrupt vector is provided by the interrupting device, usually in the form of a CALL instruction. The interrupt handler is wherever the interrupt vector points to.
the prefix of interrupt is in
"Interrupt" is a verb.
An interrupt is a hardware-generated change of flow within the system. An interrupt handler deals with the cause of the interrupt. Control is then returned to the interrupted context An interrupt is a hardware-generated change of flow within the system. An interrupt handler deals with the cause of the interrupt. There are 2 types interrupts in 8085 such as: 1)hardware interrupt 2)software interrupt
