Here's my overview: There's raw sugar, and then there's white/plantation sugar, and then there is double refined sugar. The basic raw material is either beet or sugar cane. Raw Sugar is what is left after processing the sugar cane to remove the molasses. This involves crushing the cane (milling extraction) through millers and fibrizers, and adding lime to remove color and impurities (I think), heated, clarified and evaporated to get the raw sugar. The raw sugar is similar to light brown sugar (in color) but it's texture is grainier. Raw sugar is converted to white sugar by bleaching the sugar of color impurities by exposure to sulfur di oxide (I think this is called Sulfitation). The white sugar is converted to refined/double refined sugar by repeating the process all over again, by heating/melting the white sugar and clarifying and evaporating without exposure to sulfur. CITGO, MOTIVA, CHEVRON, SHELL, VALERO, MARATHON, EXXON, MURPHY but I think VALERO bought them out, and CHALMETTE REFINERY. I believe thats it.
I heard a few people this month go around saying the U.S.A has not built an oil refinery since 1977 and I wonder where they hear this garbage. The newest refinery was built in Douglas, WY in 2008. Cheers http://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.cfm?id=29&t=6
Providing campaign funds.
Redpath Sugar Refinery was created in 1979.
I can give you several sentences. The gas refinery polluted the atmosphere. We went on a tour of the refinery.I enjoyed our visit to the sugar refinery.
what are the major issues in building a oil refinery
Did you ever taste an ant? They are sweet as sugar. Guess where they are at
It depends on what you are starting with. There is more than one thing you can get sugar from

CSR (Consolidated Sugar Refinery)
well what you should really call it is red path sugar factory
The sugar cane is pressed to release the 'milk' which when dried, becomes a crystal. These crystals are then sent to a refinery for further purification.
process operator in a refinery or chemical plant
Hexokinase is an enzyme involved in the phosphorylation of hexose (five carbon sugar). It speeds the process on adding a phosphorus to the sugar.
There are so many factors to consider in locating a government refinery. You should consider the risks involved and the people that it will affect. The location should also be accessible by road.
