I am sure by now you've had this done. But for anyone else who may wish to know.... Let's rule out regional differences in labor costs....whether it's a shade tree mechanic or at a dealer....etc. This is not the easiest job to do. First you have to pull the passenger side tire and remove the inner fender splash shield. Remove the belt and pull the harmonic balancer.....the sensor is mounted behind it and can only be replaced by pulling the balancer. It's not extremely difficult but it does take time.
In the back by the coil pack.
Problem with the signal from the Crank Sensor.
its at back of engne just under the manifold
Rear of the engine block.
It is located on the back side of the engine, where the distributor originally went.
On the firewall side of the engine block, near the transmission bellhousing, under the intake manifold that answer sir, is incorrect, the cavaliers did not use a cam sensor, only a crank sensor, but the location is right for the crank sensor
where is the crank sensor located on a 2005 chevy impala
To test a 1995 Cavalier crank sensor you would need to get a mechanic's computer. They can put a sensor/fuse tester on it and see if it is working properly.
The crankshaft position sensor is located behind the starter on the front of the engine. Hope this helps! Mitch art_y2k1@yahoo.com

the crank sensor is located on the back of the engine aprox. 1 inch above the oil pan. there is one bolt holding it in place, after removing the bolt pull the sensor out installation is reverse
Chevy did not use a crank sensor on that year.
