It is very nice but during the summer months it gets very busy and crowded with tourists. The weather is nice, during summer it stays very warm but there is always a trade wind and in winter, storm season, it stays warm but it can rain for long periods of time. The local people are very nice and friendly but sometimes the tourists can be rude. It is best to know a few basic phrases of Hawaiian before you come because many of the people who live here speak Pidgen, or a mixture of slang, English, and Hawaiian. It is easy enough to understand though. The beaches are nice but can get crowded early so sometimes it is best to go to one on a cloudy day. There is very little litter in Hawaii and the air is clear. On a sunny day you can look across the ocean and see the curve of the world. In the rain forests it can get extremely muddy so hiking boots are recommended and if you climb Diamond Head you will want to bring a water. The roads into or out of Honolulu usually have very heavy traffic but the scenic route around the island is usually okay to drive and the view is worth it.
