it is said they died from a total wipe out from a meteor strong enough to kill them all but there are other reasons such as they died from a volcano water loss or maybe a lot of the other died so there was no food for the carnivores

Well, its possible, but not very likely. Mammals were only able to evolve into the dominant life forms because of the extinction of the dinosaurs. If there had been no K-T event, then dinosaurs would likely have kept right on living. They may or may not have gone extinct in the relatively minor extinctions since then. As to your condition with humans and dinosaurs being separated, that's not a likely scenario. Dinosaurs were successfully living on every continent on the planet, so I can't really think of a reason for them to go extinct on just one continent. (Would have had to be Africa, since that's where humans evolved)
