Manconochie stew was a new World War 1 stew eaten by British soldiers in 1916. It was firstly called Aberdeen Manconochie stew; as it was invented in Aberdeen, Scotland. It consisted of meat, potatoes (which looked like black lumps) and small vegetables. It tasted horrible because it was mixed with chloride a liquid made to kill germs but made food taste horrible.
