AnswerWell, monomers of what? If it is monomers of a sugar than it would be a monosaccharide, and when joined a disaccharide. If it is just a monomer in the general term, it when joined it would be a dimer. You see mono in the beginning of the word means 1, while di means 2. If even more monomers were joined it would be tri and tetra and on and on. However anything more than two can be called a polymer, poly meaning many.

Other monomers of macromolecules include nucleotides, and amino acids.

A small molecule that joins with other small molecules to form a polymer?

All polymers are formed from monomers joining together.

What is the comparison in a polymer and a monomer?

Linking bonds, most often dehydration reactions, where atoms/molecules are removed from certain ends of the monomers, forming an H2O molecule (water) and the monomers then join up. However, that is a general formula.

What is a macromolecule made from carefully folded strings of amino acids?

Amino acids "join together" to form polypeptides. The amino acids are covalently bonded together via a condensation reaction to form a peptide bond. A chain of the amino acids bonded together is known as the polypeptide. A protein is made up of one or more polypeptides.

What forms a polymer when two or more join together?

When two or more join together a polymer forms a molecule.

What is formed when elements join together?

A compound is formed when elements join together.

What is an example of a monomer and polymer pair?

Monomers are the starting units for making Polymers. For eg: Polyethylene is synthesized by addition polymerisation technique to form Polyethylene. Many monomers join together to form a large macromolecule called as polymer.

What to many monomers make up when they are linked together?

monomers are made up of small molecules which join together to make polymers
