Weeelll... it depends. Do you want to *save* anything on the PC? If not, then RAM is all you need. In fact for a long time, simple PC's (Apple iie for example) had no hard drives at all- and little RAM either.

Hard drives are for one thing: long term (NOT PERMANENT!) storage of data. OK, why did I say "not permanent"? Because, simply put, there's no such thing. Think about the pyramids in Egypt. Those aren't "permanent" either, but they sure have lasted a long time!

Which brings up other questions: How long do you want or need to store data? If you consider your data valuable, then a backup routine is essential. but that's not the topic here.

Bottom line? RAM is more important than a hard drive. You can operate a computer without a hard disk, but you can not do it without RAM.

Well, you need both. Memory is so your computer can start up things, and a hard drive is so that you can store things on your computer. Without memory you wont be able to start anything up, ex. internet, microsoft office. Without a hard drive, you wont be able to store those things in the first place. Most computers have more hard drive than memory, but they always have both.

What are the features of logical and physical memory?

physical memory is the actual sticks of memory that you put inside your computer. it is generally faster than logical memory. logical memory is similar to physical memory except imagine all the data on the memory chips on a file in your hard drive. it is usually much slower than physical memory, and it can even damage your hard drive if used in excess. (read/write times increase so the hard drive disk heads have to move faster/more often which puts more wear and tear on the hard drive)

How do you increase megabytes in my hard drive XP?

Generally, you can't change the amount of space on a hard drive. You can organize it so it compresses data, but to get more actual memory, you have to get a new hard drive, with more capacity.

How can you install more memory on a iMac no not ram but memory?

You will need to take your iMac apart and replace the hard drive. A better solution is to connect an external hard drive to your Mac via the Firewire port.

Will your computer run slow if the memory is full?

Your computer will have more issues when you hard rive is near full as it uses something called virtual memory. This memory is really hard drive space that the systems uses like CPU memory. The computer will be spending more time looking around your drive and finding space then doing work you want. Two ways to cure this is to get a larger drive or more memory.

What memory stored in the hard drive?

Hard-drives are not memory as such, they are storage devices. However, the contents of RAM (Random Access Memory) are stored on the hard drive in the form of one or more paging files, allowing the operating system to realise more RAM than physically exists (virtual memory). The contents of RAM are also stored on the hard drive when the computer enters hibernation mode. Aside from that, hard-drives provide long-term storage of programs and files that can be loaded into memory as and when required.
