ha ha ha no its not! people think this because 720 is x2 of 360. u are so gullible if u think this is true. it is called the xbox 360 because provides 360 degrees of entertainment: games, movies, music, internet access and community, as well as features like high definition image, simplicity of use and surround sound capability.
it could be called xbox 720 or not. but Microsoft recently patented the name XBOX phoenix.
