North America doesn't have a specific religion. There are many Christians of many denominations (though few Catholics, from what I've seen). Judaism, Islam, Bhuddism, and many other religions have found a place in North America, as have non-religious systems such as agnosticism, atheism, and Humanism. In general, though, aside from a specific region in the United States called The Bible Belt, most people are accepting and tolerant of religious differences, so there are less conflicts than one might expect.
North and South America is called "The Americas" within that are countries like USA, Canada, Brazil, Argentina ect
Christianity.
One of the reason the Puritans went to North America was because they did not agree with the church of England and they were not allowed to practice their own religion.
The two continents of the western hemisphere, North America & South America became based on two major religions: A. In South America, including the North American country of Mexico, Roman Catholicism became the foundation of religion in this part of the New World based on the Catholicism of Spain. B. In North America, Protestant denominations became the foundation religion. This was due to a large part by the British official religion of the Anglican religion.
