All silver dollars (1794 to 1935) had various depictions of the American Eagle.
Modern (non-silver) dollar coins have several different designs:
Eisenhower, Anthony, and 2000-2008 Sacagawea dollars also have an eagle
2009 and later Sacagawea dollars will have various Native American designs.
Presidential dollars have the Statue of Liberty.
above the DO in dollar on the back :]
It's Probably Nothing.
Sorry this isn't a American silver eagle. This is a Morgan silver dollar. The mintmark is located above the DO in DOLLAR on the back of the coin.
On the reverse of the bicentennial silver dollar is the Liberty Bell super-imposed over and image of the moon.
No US silver dollars were made after 1935, look at the back of the coin for 'Half Dollar'.
you can find it ABOVE the DO in dollar on the back
Please check the coin's date and denomination US silver dollar production was suspended between 1905 and 1920 inclusive, so there are no 1917 dollar coins. If your coin says HALF DOLLAR on the back, it's a half dollar, not a silver dollar.
Look at the back of the coin for "HALF DOLLAR" no US dollar coins were struck after 1935.
If you check the back you'll find that you have a halfdollar. There has never been a US-issued Kennedy silver dollar.
