With over 1,55,015 post offices, India has the world's biggest postal network. On average, a single post office services a population of 7,175 residents. In August 2011, the floating post office on Dal Lake in Srinagar was officially launched.

The Chail Cricket Ground in Chail, Himachal Pradesh, is the largest in the world at 2,444 meters. It was constructed in 1893 as part of the Chail Military School.

Diamonds were initially discovered only in alluvial beds in Guntur and Krishna Districts of the Krishna River Delta. Before diamonds were discovered in Brazil in the 18th century, India was the world's leading producer of diamonds.

When it comes to English speakers, India ranks second only to the United States, with almost 125 million people learning the language, accounting for only 10% of our population. This is expected to increase significantly in the coming years.

India has claimed all five men's Kabaddi World Cups held to date, going unbeaten in the process. The Indian women's team has also won both of the Kabaddi World Cups that have been held to date.

Rabindranath Tagore is credited with writing not only the Indian national anthem Jana Gana Mana, but also the Bangladeshi national anthem Amar Sonar Bangla. The British even gave him knighthood, but he declined after the Jalianwala Bagh massacre.

India was the first country to improve sugar extraction and purification techniques. Many foreign tourists learned about sugar refining and cultivation from us.

India recently surpassed the European Union in volume, with more than 132.4 million tonnes produced in 2014.

Both for religious or personal reasons, or both, approximately 20-40% of Indians are vegetarians, making India the most vegetarian-friendly nation in the world.

Mawsynram, a village in Meghalaya's Khasi Hills, has the world's highest recorded average rainfall. Cherrapunji, which is also in Meghalaya, has the record for the most rainfall in a calendar year (1861).
