Can you elaborate please? Paganism is an umbrella term for nature based religions. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "system". If you mean system of beliefs, it's not possible to give an accurate answer, as every pagan is different, and trying to categorise what they believe is like trying to herd cats!
Paganism is a belief system by the Celts. Celtic is a 'nationality' for lack of better terms and valued the belief system of Paganism. In today's society for example: Swedes (people who come from Sweden) value the belief system of Christianity.
The suffix of Paganism is -ism
just like that paganism

Paganism is more then one type of religion and paganism is found in every country.
Im inclined to think that "barbaric" paganism is in reference to the Germanic forms of paganism in North West Europe and Scandanavia

Modern Paganism in World Cultures was created in 2005.
Paganism originates from ancient false religious practices, such as the ones Babylon used in their worship to false gods. Paganism incorporates idolatry (the worship of idols/fake deities) and spiritism. Spiritism involves all sorts of things like magic, satanic rituals, psychic mediums, etc. Jehovah's witnesses know that these things stem from Satan the god of this system of things. that is why they dislike it so much. In Deuteronomy 18: 10-12, it mentions many of the things that are weaved into paganism.
Paganism has been around so long people don't know how it began or where it came from.
Modern Paganism in World Cultures has 382 pages.
