Post-war syndrome' or, as it is often named today, 'PTSD' (for post-traumatic stress-disorder) is the physico-psychological condition experienced by human beings who have experienced the trauma of war and not been able to resolve it in a personally adequate way upon their return home. It has many possible symptoms, such as nightmarish dreams or the inability to sleep, outbursts of violence, feelings of isolation or inadequacy, inexplicable anger or confusion, memory-fixations or obsessions, and others. It is, however, curable, and in fact today it is more and more well-understood and attended to by doctors and society in general.
