What is responsible for the brake lights not working in an Audi A4?
first id check the fuse if that's ok there should be a switch at the top of the brake pedal so when u press the brake the switch opens and brake lights work this is adjustable and may need adjusting failing that it could need replacing. Also be sure all of your brake light bulbs are not burned out. This can happen with any car (and happens fairly often).
My brake lights on an Audi a6 quattro don't light up i already checked fuses and they are good is it a sensor?
Audi brake switch same as VW Golf (in newer models). A common problem with VW Golf 2002 is the brake light switch. The vehicle won't come out of park if it breaks. The 2002 model had a recall due to faulty brake switches. Read online how to fit it before fitting - easy to break if you don't understand what you're doing.
Faulty Brake Light Switch...causes this and a myriad of other prblems. Replacing switch no guarantee....I had mine replaced (today, November 20th)...with another faulty switch...creating even more problems (won't shift out of 1st gear...ABS/ESP warnings go on...brake light doesn't work (stuck on "on"). Still waiting for dealer to resolve...have to wait until Monday.
99 Audi A4 reverse lights do not work on either side The bulbs are good and there are no blown fuses Brake lights and driving lights are fine What may be causing this?
On my 98 A4 1.8T I had the same problem. The problem was the entire headlight switch on the stearing column went bad. I dont know if the headlight switch has anything to do with the reverse lights but from my own experience the reverse light problem is caused by thhe reverse light switch which is in the gearbox. I got a price of
because of the new daylight running lights, and auto headlights this has become quite the issue. However, there is a simple solution. If you set your parking brake before turning on ignition, the headlights should stay off. I have often walked to the car behind me at the drive in and explained that.
