The American Indian population suffers from a high mortality rate and homicide rate. They also proportionally deal with high rates of Alcoholism, drug use and illnesses. Sociologists tend to believe this is traced directly back to the American Indian genocide. However, as the resurgence of Indian spirituality grows, that rates for all those ills are slowly going down.
