The mixing jug it comes with says 25:1 which is very smokey.
Where 35:1 is less oil, 50:1 is even less oil
Im guessing they want 25:1 to keep the piston well oiled during use, for longer life and additional cooling
I ran mine on 50:1 just to get it started after sitting unused for 14 years just for a few min. I didnt know it was supposed to be 25:1
the book recommends between 20:1 and 25:1

I have one of these my self and the answer is quite simple. i use a 50:1 fuel-oil mix ratio Hope this helps.
Oil fuel mix ratio is different for different engines, please contact the manufacturer Fuel air mixture is the same @ 17 to 1 by weight.
If the banshee hasn't been bored or altered then there is one ratio mix. The gas to oil ratio mix should be 40 to 1 .

the fuel ratio for a 1977 Johnson 6hp is 50:1. The mix can be moved to 60:1 if you will be doing a lot of trolling.
The factory owners manual recommends 20:1 fuel to oil ratio.
