Why do warnings read danger high voltage rather than danger high current?
Until something comes along to conduct charge between points of different potential (voltage), there is no current. Think of a battery standing on the desk in front of you. There is voltage between the can (neg) and the button on top (pos) ... about 1.5 volts. But there is no current until something makes a conducting circuit between the button and the can.
